AX Supplimental license post: Sentai II

Instead of continuing the trend of updating the Sentai post(Making that a real long post), I divided them in half, between Days 1-2 and 3-4. Because as you can tell, Sentai has licensed a LOT.

Sentai has nabbed the following:

Qwazar of Stigmata(Both seasons. Plus BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS. Not my show.)
Detroit Metal City (About time this was picked up)
So, I can’t play H? (……yeah. It’s probably that type of generic show.
Space Brothers
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (dunno about this one.I may take a look via Crunchy)
Somedays Dreamers II: Sora (got the original. I hope 2 is just as good)
Tari Tari
Kokoro Connect

Some people assume they are spreading out too thin. They may be, but they are getting all sorts of shows. Will probably nab DMC.

And with this post, I end AX coverage for this year. Next year, I will be AT the con itself. Coming soon: San Diego Comic Con, Otakon. (And the first of the Saimoe posts)

AX Industry Panel ’12 Part V: Funimation

Funimation is the heavyweight company in the industry today. Because of DBZ, they have been able to nab a lot of content and expand to the company they are today. This year, they picked up a ton of stuff as well.

New stuff:

Funi picked up Michiko to Hatchin, The two Sequels to Ikkitosen( Great Guardians and Xtreme Xecutor),Appleseed XIII and the Blood C movie. Didn’t know that Funi Had Blood C nabbed, or upgraded it’s rights…

Rights Upped to Home Media (DVD/BDs):

Blood C, Jormongand. Eureka Seven AO, and Aria the Scarlet Ammo.

Streaming Rights:

Binbogami ga!, Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero.

To me, this was a bit lackluster. But with Ikkitosen, a proven money maker(With the boobs), how well can Media Blasters Survive?

Note: I did see High School DxD mentioned for additional rights on Bayoab’s livefeed, but I dunno if that is for certain…

AX Industry Panels Pt IV: Right Stuf Int/Nozomi

Nozomi has been one that has been for a niche market. They did bring out fan favorites like Utena and Dirty Pair, but most of their recent titles have been for select markets.

This year, it’s no different. Nozomi, which has also branched off into the Lucky Penny Brand, has picked up Ristorante Paradiso,  Hyakko, and Aoi Hana. Three titles, while may suit some fanbases, doesn’t really wow me, but that is what Nozomi picks up, usually.

AX Industry Panel Pt III: Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll in my eyes, changed from Devil incarnate, to a very decent company. Although the subs were TERRIBAD, they did bring out Nogizaka Haruka, after all. So this year, They seem to not disappoint.

Today, Crunchyroll also licensed Horizon II in addition to Sword Art Online, a show that seems to be the favorite this year. Also licensed were Kokoro Connect, Campione, Chitose Get You!! (O RLY?), Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai(Also known as “So, I can’t play H?”), Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita ,  Natsuyuki Rendezvous(From Noitomina), La storia della Arcana Famiglia, and Tari Tari. Something tells me they aren’t done.

Also, Crunchyroll announced that they added apps for their services for the PS3 and Samsung TVs. It makes you wonder that to compete with CR, Neon Alley may go with a PS3 launch. Waiting and seeing on that one.
